Wake Enterprises Nature Trail PDF Print E-mail

The Triangle Greenways Council recently participated in a collaborative, trail-building project with Wake Enterprises, Inc.  Wake Enterprises is a private, nonprofit organization committed to the vocational and social development of adults with developmental disabilities.  Wake Enterprises engaged Triangle Greenways board member, Robert Hinson, to help build a trail on the Wake Enterprises campus for visitors to enjoy.  Mr. Hinson coordinated a group of volunteers from the Triangle Greenways and Fuquay-Varina High School in building the trail.

Alsongside a landscaping company, the group graded, placed, and compacted granite screenings on a portion of the trail.  Volunteers then spread mulch across the trail.  On a day with great weather, the group spent the day outside trimming vines, removing small debris from the trail area, and trying to put the trail in a usable condition.  Bringing their own tools that included shovels, rakes, loppers, wheel barrows, the volunteers felt a sense of satisfaction while enjoying drinks and snacks after the hard work.  Let's thank Mr. Hinson for coordinating this volunteer opportunity.
